ABOUT

Hi there! My name is Ash Ventura, but most of you probably know me as Godzilla_Kamatakun. As my username suggests, I am a huge Godzilla fan. I love dragons and pretty much anything dinosaur. I currently live in the arid desert of Arizona but I'm from North Carolina.

I am a completely self-taught artist and fursuit maker! Making fursuits for others has been my dream ever since I picked up a hot glue gun and some foam in early 2018. I run my company, Kaiju's Rage Creations, and although it is fairly new, I have been wanting to create my own business ever since I was a small child.

I identify as female but have always been a tomboy. Playing in the dirt and pretending my backyard was ancient Egypt was the quick summary of my childhood. As I've grown up, I've also grown into my shoes (or footpaws) and learned that it's okay to be yourself. I embrace my love for all animals and have a grip on fashion.

As a child, I was entranced by Star Wars, having a Star Wars version of pretty much everything. In elementary school, I became avidly obsessed with dragons with my best friends and made our own world we named Dragonia. I created the 'Book of Dragons' in which I drew all the dragons that inhabited Dragonia. Lately, though, Godzilla has been my new obsession. I started a collection in 2019 and plan to never stop.

My main focus over the last few years has been expanding my abilities through my artwork and getting a grip on fursuit making.

You may have spotted my two fursonas, Hyrule and Yoshi. Hyrule is a manokit that embraces my tomboy side and reminds me that it's okay to play in the dirt or climb a tree.

Yoshi however, embraces my feminine side and is the fashion guru. She tells me that dressing to impress is okay and to always keep my head up. I love  them both with all my heart and they are a huge part of me.

This was my first fursuit head. Yeah, piece of work, huh? Her name was blue and she was inspired by my dog, Bella. She was made in early 2018, when my fursuit making career began. She was the start of pretty much everything that I am today. Pretty deep but it's all true!

This is my most recent fursuit, Hyrule. I made him in early 2021. He is my life, and I am so proud to have created him. Unfortunately, due to COVID and the summer being unbearably hot, i haven't had a chance to show him off to the world yet. Given that, these two pictures side by side prove that with time comes progress, and with enough practice, you can do anything. Never give up on your hopes. Believe in yourself and you'll find they're closer than you think.
